I have been so busy lately that it has been easier to Facebook short status reports than to blog. I've even been Twittering more (mostly for work cause time to work-blog is nonexistent). All the social media channels I'm obligated to do start to pile up. Now it feels like yet another shirked responsibility. Last thing I need - and I love blogging so I'm trying to remember why I post to Georgie Girls. It's almost like a continuous scrapbook of my ever roaming interests.
Can you believe I'm taking up a new hobby - or at least trying another one out? Have been a huge fan of the Sublime Stitching site for ages and ages. Check out the divine retro stitch-witchery! Love this and this. I just bought Jenny Hart's new book "Embroidered Effects". Spent the last two nights practicing the stem stitch, fern stitch, back stitch, etc. Not very good but very fun! Isn't that sometimes the case with being crafty? It's so much fun even if you are bad at it!
When not doing that the past couple of nights, have been ramping up for ROLLER SKATING on Wednesday night. I am dying to buy my own sweet Riedell skates and train for roller derby try outs in January. Skating is terribly fun. I have been looking at these *sweet* Wicked skates. I am going to go for a few more weeks before I make my decision and keep talking with folks.

Also have been finishing up what I'm calling my Autumn Chill scarf. The actual yarn color is called Harvest. It's basic knit stitch, fantastically fast and fun.
Another awesome thing is the bi-polar story line of Stacey Slater on Eastenders. Yes, I *love* all things British and have often waxed poetic about Eastenders on my blog but this is probably one of the most compelling and just heart wrenching stories I've seen in a long time. I find it interesting how well British television deals with sensitive issues. Very different than US television - also love how the BBC always has a toll free # for folks to call if a program's subject matter impacts them and they want to chat with someone. Very cool.
Heading to Washington DC next week and then to Boston the first week of November. Right now though, I continue to nest here at home and have fun with my friends, my puppies and crafts.
Sweet sewing peace to you all.
