Don't these flowers look dreamy? Unreal in gorgeousness. Peonies the likes of which we don't find around here. And it is so English and ... perfect so where would I put them?

And then I dream of the most amazing stamp desk - my dream desk with these lovely

flowers sitting on top from French Envy. The only location fine enough for such

flowery goodness.

And I know that is a dream because I can't imagine spending $3000 for a stamp desk

no matter how well made.  Then my dreams would flow to food and cool

foodie projects like this one from Bakerella.

And then I think about the fact that I don't bake as that involves carbs and I realize that 

a dream of Liberty of London Nikes is probably... the most comfy, cozy and appropriately

FLOWERY dream of all for Georgie Girl.

YAY!!!! The Sussex Spaniel WINS!

Stump, the oldest best in show winner at the WKC won tonight! He's 10 years old. He's an adorable liver color (one of my favorite spaniel shades - like Boykin's) and has the low to the ground look of the Basset and Doxies I grew up with. Plus he has HUGE paws like Gracie.  I am so happy for Stump! YAY SPANIEL BREEDS!

He proves you're never too old to be a winner!!! Now he starts his 15 city satellite tour, Today Show and Martha Steward segments.

Guilty Pleasure: Westminster Dog Show

My family's annual rite of February includes watching the Westminster Dog Show.  Of course I'm partial to Cockers (Gracie) and Doxies (my brother, Buddy) but I watch every breed and soak in the whole experience. I can't even IMAGINE how much fun it would be to go to the show.  The Westminster Web site is just awesome - you can get a lot of information, watch really cool videos of behind the scenes, etc.

There's a reason Best in Show is one of my favorite movies - and in my imagination a huge dog show like WKC's would be the ultimate in fun and drama.

I was so happy when the Scottie won the Terrier group cause that was one GORGEOUS dog.  Tomorrow night is the big kahuna and the remaining groups. 

OF course the two dogs that are the best of the best doggies EVER are chewing bones in the bed right now. 

70th Birthday

A friend's Mama celebrated her 70th. A lovely time was had by all.

Mall Musings

Some weeks are longer than others. Quantitatively that may be an inaccurate statement but from a qualitative perspective we all know that's true. Tomorrow is Friday and I can't wait

Went to the mall and picked up cute Aerie undies (5 for $25) in the new spring colors. Stopped by Lush and purchased Dream Cream and the awesome refrigerated all-natural mask I have raved about before "A Crash Course in Skin Care".

Came home to watch Season 3 of Hamish MacBeth and I have to say that I am so impatient waiting to see if Isobel and Hamish are finally together in the end - forever. I love that they are friends, falling in love yet still independent people. I love that show! 

Of course now I'm faced with the end of yet another great TV series from the UK.  Thus the search for the next big series that catches my fancy begins!

Happy 2009

The year starts with promise. I went to yoga yesterday and the teacher asked us to write a prayer or affirmations for 2009 and then put them under our mat - contemplate them during our practice. Today I didn't go to practice but instead went to see family and spent time at home with the Girls.

It has been a great couple of weeks off and I go back to work Tuesday. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend. SO many projects and wonderful things got accomplished this week. Of course there was also a lot of tiring stuff - but that is typical for a holiday break where you have a bit of family drama.

The girls just came in from a cold walk around the neighborhood and are crashed on the couch warming their little feet. Little do they know that they are also going to get baths tonight. Shhhhhh....

We are watching a Jefferson's "Movin' on Up" marathon. George and Tom just challenged each other to a marathon.  Now the episode where Helen and Louise go to an all-male review :-)... hehehe. 1980 style for sure. I can't wait!  Plus there is a Monk marathon on USA.  And a fire in the fireplace!

The Queen's Christmas address

I was transfixed at Queen Elizabeth's Christmas message this morning (10AM BBC Americas) because I was having such a surreal Christmas this year that I needed a little royal interruption.  It was lovely. Harry is a doll in the video - so charming.  Another highlight for me was when I noticed that the same triple strand of pearls the Queen was wearing in her 2008 address is the same triple strand she is wearing in the video of her playing with a young Prince Charles 60 years ago.  Ah, tradition.

The surreal Christmas ended today with another homemade meal that I meticulously cooked, packed and toted over to the hospital. I was really in the Christmas spirit till everything got absorbed in this health related tail spin. Supposedly we will have a family Christmas this weekend at some point - but I just am not sure I can get in the spirit 

Oh never fear, I shall rally!  Just that this Christmas is a crossroads for my family - and in my opinion, a good one. I am sitting here with a mug of hot apple cider watching "About Jane". Tomorrow I am deep cleaning the house (honestly I already did the kitchen tonight - everything but cleaning out the inside of the fridge!).  Happy Christmas!!

Oh wait, one more thing, the girls had Christmas cinnamon rolls this morning. They had a lovely morning and we celebrated Christmas morning together. I will post pictures sometime this weekend.
