Puppy Bowl ROCKS

Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl V is the best TV in town tonight. I love football, but the Puppy Bowl kicks football's.... um.... tail.

And I found this awesome video (it starts out as still photos) of two gorgeous buff colored Cocker Spaniels who *love* going down a TurboSlide.  I laughed - these two dogs just love sliding!

I watched BBC's 6 part Middlemarch production - another Andrew Davies screenplay but this is from 1994 and you can tell he was whetting his chops before the masterpiece of Pride & Prejudice was unveiled. It was a great adaptation for the small screen.. ENjoyed it immensely and I have to admit, I always had a hard time making it all the way through George Eliot's book.

Loving right now.... The IT Crowd

I am laughing so hard. There's a British TV show called The IT Crowd and the first couple of seasons are wonderful!  Well the third season is available and I just watched the second episode and laughed so hard that I am still crying. 

Surprisingly, you can catch tons of The IT Crowd episodes and out takes on YouTube.

The premise is a team of three misfits (each in their own way) are banished to work in the basement - and forming a totally insane IT department. 

There's the manager who knows absolutely nothing about computers, a Scot who is totally goofy and then.... Moss.  I can't describe Moss.

Lovin' right now... Hamish MacBeth

Scotland, oh Scotland.... I have been watching Hamish MacBeth lately and enjoying every brogue, Wee Jock (the Westie) and adventure in Lochdubh.  The TV series is based on a series of books by MC Beaton and there are a SLEW of them in the series - so now I have to go put the first book, Death of a Gossip, on reserve! 

I have watched Hamish MacBeth season 1 and have seasons 2 and three in my Netflix queue.

Yes, there is a Santa, Georgie Girl. He goes by three letters. BBC.

What a great night. I am curled up on my luscious living platform (chair and a half w/ ottoman) and watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special. Then I stumble upon this article that says the Christmas special is the last episode.  

So the detective in me starts to kick in and then I find THIS article on BBC News that says they have announced there WILL be a third season.  Who to believe?  The article on BBC was posted 21DEC. Obviously, I must believe it cause there is associated video. You can tell how important this is to me, right?

How could I ever think the BBC would let me down? To confirm, there is a third series in the works.

I have to have more Nessa. More Smithy. PLUS the Christmas Special has this insane cliff hanger. In my detective work it finally sunk in that the actors that play Smithy & Nessa write the series together which makes sense because their relationship is the most nuanced and appealing to me (Gavin and Stacey are a bit sicky sweet now).

So I can sit back on my luscious living platform and rest easy.  There will be more Gavin and Stacey. Oh yes, there will. 

I *heart* Bleak House

So a bit ago I told you guys I was watching Little Dorrit. It's goods but I read that Bleak House is much better. So being a Charles Dickens kind of gal right now, I just started watching Bleak House while I still finish up Little Dorrit. 

Woah baby. It's AWESOME - officially it is butter.  The scenic work is fantastic, the story is compelling and mysterious and I love the cast (some excellent at creepy, some at being likable). Delicious to know I have so many episodes left to watch - about 6!

It was worth it.

I haven't had a TV in my bedroom for two years. I caved and bought one - the 19" HDTV deal at WalMart. Yes, I participated in a very subdued way in the Black Friday sales. The TV is set up on a tall skinny table I bought for $19 at TJMaxx.  Now I have cable and DVD capabilities in my boudoir. 

It completely rocks. I forgot how great it is to have the Food Network and CNN and the Weather Channel and such as I knit in my 1000 thread count sheets.  Another Black Friday deal - 1000 thread count sheets for $60.  I washed them to Gain perfection.

Fave Rave: Most Haunted Live Gettysburg

OK, totally am grooving on Most Haunted Live Gettysburg tonight. It is rocking the paranormal-sphere. Serious entertainment, peeps. I don't have any psychic art to submit or psychic scrapbook pages to send in to the guys.

OMG pink unicorns and ghosts! I have to get back to show! Seance is in 2 hours! More later.

Guilty Pleasure: Burn Notice

Went to a new place called Baba Grill. Was looking for a new place to get my falafel on - and it satisfied.

Quick post tonight because boys are swimming a heat in Beijing. Must watch swimming boys. *sigh*

My guilty pleasure is the series Burn Notice. I catch the episodes on HULU. 

I *hate with a passion* that Brandi Carlisle sold out "The Story" to GM! Every time I see that commercial I get sick. I love that song and it means something.  Can't blame her, but still. Grrrr.

Hip hip hooray for Ugly Betty...

I love Ugly Betty - Not only is Betty a great character surrounded by fully fleshed out folks that charm, delight and yet are fantastically flawed. 

But the scenes I relish are between Marc St. James and Amanda. I stay in stitches.

And while this week started out on a challenging note, I made it to yoga tonight. Wrists are hurting but not as much as I thought they would. Getting back on track with the little things like diet and mental calm.  

Saturday I go see TOM PETTY FOR THE 6th TIME!!!!!!!!!  *sigh* I love him.

Next Food Network Star: My initial advice

Freaky Friday. I am so tired that I really just need to go to bed, but it's Friday night! I went to yoga, finished a work project and started watching TV.  Am loving the The next Food Network Star. Great show. Cause I'm sure they are all reading my blog.... here's some advice.

Lisa is really cool but needs to ratchet down the fake-ness a wee bit - like 25% and then fill that in with real-ness. If she were more approachable like she was with Martha and during eliminiation, I think people could connect with the real-ness yet she'd still appeal to the Jr. League crowd as well.  Just a thought. 

I think that Cory is my fave just cause the food he cooks actually could be good and he doesn't have an irritating presence.

That said, I do like Kelsey as well. I think she is an ENFJ Myers Briggs. I can relate to her perkiness - but only about 68.8% of the time.  GOOD GRIEF she is so Utah. But she is full of energy and perhaps could be channeled the right way.  She's someone that on about 70% throttle, and excellent food, I could deal with. 

As far as I'm concerned Nipa is just a Giada wanna be but a different specialty - one is Indian, the other Italian.  I'm not sure I can respect someone who on the SECOND show acted like a diva.  "I can't take it anymore"

Hey, girl, had a job lately?  You don't just walk out. 

So tonight in yoga we spent a lot of time in chair and in warrior poses. I had a really good warrior III pose on both sides. I wonder why we sometimes (day to day, hour to hour) have fantastic balance and then all of a sudden you just couldn't stand on one foot to save your life?

I have realized how strange the body is - constantly breaking down and building back up.  Now if I can just get my arms to touch behind my back --- any any pose or binding pose at all --- that is another goal.

I want to do this....Half Lord of the Fishes w/ hands binding.
